Martin Janoušek

Martin is an independent audiovisual artist, film and commercial director, editor, documentary cinematographer, creator, and photographer with rich work experience and theoretical knowledge in multimedia, marketing, political campaigns, videogame industry, and audiovision in general.

After finishing high school in his hometown Krnov he began to study Audiovisual Arts at Silesian University in Opava where he lasted two years before switching to Faculty of Multimedia Communications at University of Tomas Bata in Zlin, where he graduated in specialization on directing and screenwriting classical narrative movies. His finished his master studies at FAMU CAS in Prague. He also studied 5 months at Fine Arts Faculty at University of Castilla de la Mancha in Cuenca, Spain. He attended several audiovisual workshops: for example in Berlin and french Dijon on social, political and media history topics, and annually in polish Jelenia Góra, video art workshop of a film festival ZOOM.

Engaged also in photography and experimental cinema, but mostly in video art, visual and digital art, augmented and virtual reality and videogames, he examines their relationship to history, society, economics, politics, psychology, philosophy and art. He began to work with formal style on various topics, currently he's interested in social and political critique.
